Capacity has risen to 83.6 kWh in the Performance Battery and 97 kWh in the Performance Battery Plus. The larger battery and the new rear-mounted motor are both lighter than before, which helped Porsche cover more than 360 miles on a single charge during pre-release real-world testing in Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Taycan can charge overnight (~10 hours) using Level 2 (240V) equipment. For longer road trips, it can replenish its battery at a rate of up to 320 kW under ideal conditions, charging from 10 to 80 percent in under 18 minutes at a compatible station.
